In this spirit, our students have initiated a Support Staff Literacy Programme to empower and uplift the invaluable members of our school staff.
Our school support staff plays an essential role in maintaining the school’s daily operations. However, it became apparent that some of our support staff members faced challenges related to literacy. Many expressed a desire to improve their reading and writing skills to enhance their daily lives both inside and outside the school.
Recognizing the importance of literacy in our modern world, a group of dedicated students decided to take action. They created the Support Staff Literacy Programme with the goal of helping our support staff members improve their literacy skills. This program is entirely student-led and showcases our commitment to inclusivity and community development.
The students developed a comprehensive curriculum that covers basic reading, writing, and digital literacy skills. The curriculum is designed to be engaging and practical, addressing the real-life needs of our support staff. Student volunteers, under the guidance of teachers, conduct regular literacy classes for the support staff. These sessions are interactive and encourage active participation.
