ASSESSMENT POLICY

A comprehensive testing policy has been developed for Grades I- XI to ensure fair and consistent evaluation of student performance. This policy applies to all formative and summative assessments, quizzes, classwork, homework, projects, research assignments and class participation.

Formative Assessments are designed to evaluate the progress of students throughout the academic year. These assessments will be administered twice a year and will cover the topics taught in class. The first formative assessment (MYT) will be conducted within the third month of the first term. The End of Year Tests (EYT) will be conducted within the third month of second term. The results of these assessments will be used by teachers to identify areas where students need additional support and to adjust to suit individual needs.

Summative Assessments are designed to evaluate the overall performance of students at the end of academic year. These assessments will be conducted twice a year: Mid-Year Exam (MYE) and End of Year Exam (EYE). The results of these assessments will be used to determine the level of mastery of the concepts taught in class.

Quizzes will be administered periodically to evaluate student understanding of specific topics taught in class. These quizzes will be announced in advance and students will be given sufficient time to prepare for them.

Classwork and Homework will be assigned regularly to reinforce the concepts taught in class. These assignments will be graded and will contribute to the overall grade of the student. Late submissions will not be accepted and students who miss assignments will be ungraded.

Projects and Research Assignments will be assigned periodically to encourage students to apply the concepts learned in class .These assignments will be graded based on the quality of research, presentation and overall understanding of the topic.

Class Participation will be evaluated based on the student’s level of engagement in class activities, including discussions, group work and presentations. Students who are consistently disengaged will be required to attend additional support sessions.
